Greetings, I am Rosalyn Bird, your MLA for Prince George–Valemount, and I am a dedicated public servant and Canadian Armed Forces veteran who champions common sense policies, economic opportunity, and access to healthcare and education for northern families.
With a 22-year military career - I played a crucial role in Forward Logistics Support for Southeast Asia relations, Op Apollo, and Op Altair in support of Afghanistan. MY service also took me across Canada, from BC to Nova Scotia and as far north as Ellesmere Island, Nunavut, at CFS Alert. My experience and skills bring leadership, integrity, and a passion for service to the Legislature. I entered politics to stand up for those feeling left behind, focusing on protecting jobs, supporting veterans and seniors, and strengthening BC communities.
I am a proud local resident and active volunteer, committed to listening, serving, and fighting for the values that matter most to our region.
I am committed to strengthening local health services, recruiting and retaining medical professionals, and ensuring no one is forced to travel long distances for essential care. For me, healthcare isn’t just policy - it’s a promise to stand up for the well-being of every resident I serve.
I am committed to restoring Prince George’s forestry sector and strengthening our local economy. I will continue to advocate for policies that support resource-based jobs, create opportunities, and keep our communities thriving.
I am focused on building a future where good-paying, long-term jobs are available right here at home.
I am committed to building safer neighborhoods by supporting local non-profits and strengthening collaboration with key partners like police, municipalities, and community organizations. I believe that by working together, we can address the root causes of crime and support those most in need ensuring a safer, stronger place to call home.
